Translation, adaptation and validation of the Intent to Aid survey into French<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a leading cause of death globally. Scientific literature underscores the effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, demonstrating that individuals from various backgrounds can learn the necessary skills. Nevertheless, data indicates that even CPR-trained lay responders initiate CPR in only 35% of emergencies. This discrepancy highlights that possessing CPR skills alone is insufficient without the intent to act. To bridge this gap, it is crucial to investigate the factors influencing CPR performance using a validated instrument. The Intent to Aid (I2A) survey is designed to identify the emotional and psychological factors that affect a layperson\u2019s willingness to provide aid in emergencies. While the I2A has been developed and validated in English, a French version does not currently exist. This project aims to translate, adapt, and validate the I2A survey for French-speaking populations. Training organizations and health authorities will better understand the training and psychological support needs of lay responders and First Responders Volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
