Hack4SocialGood (H4SG) is a two-day hackathon that bridges the gap between the social sector and the world of technology. Participants from social work, IT, academia, and civil society come together to co-develop digital solutions for real-world challenges in social services.

The goal is to foster fair, inclusive, and effective digital transformation. Participants form interdisciplinary teams to co-create prototypes, data tools, platforms, or automation solutions based on needs submitted by social organizations.

H4SG 2026 Edition

H4SG-26 is the fifth (following 2020, 2023, 2024, and 2025) and is co-organized by BFH, FHNW, HEG Arc, HSLU, ZHAW and sozialinfo.

HEG Arc through the Institut de digitalisation des organisation, takes the lead role in hosting the 2026 edition. A collaboration with Graine de Belette will offer a space for creative prototyping a dedicated program for children, designed to introduce them to digital innovation in a fun, hands-on way.

The main venue for the event will be Campus Arc 1, located at Espace de l’Europe 21 in Neuchâtel. To enhance accessibility, satellite locations may be set up at HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sierre and HETSL in Lausanne, allowing participants who are unable to travel to Neuchâtel to take part from other campuses. Further details will be shared soon.

The event is held in English, but most documentation will be provided in both English and French. Teams are free to collaborate in the language of their choice.
