Happy and proud to welcome the first training school of the COST action « Endless Metal » organized in Neuchâtel by Prof. Christian Degrigny.Fresh news! Training School!
Tools to easier identify and diagnose metallic cultural heritage. A training school for young professionals (www.cost.eu/cost-events/endless-metal-tools-to-easier-identify-and-diagnose-metallic-cultural-her...)
It will take place next week, from the 23rd to the 25th, at the Haute École Arc Conservation-Restauration, Neuchâtel, and 15 lucky young professionals will benefit! To them, our congratulations!
They come from Denmark, France, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and Switzerland! A good distribution and representation of different European contexts! What a pity for some, coming from contexts not eligible for grants. There will be other opportunities!
They will get to know portable, low-cost, minimally invasive, easy-to-use, and easily accessible analytical tools, which can be used individually or in combination:
– DiscoveryMat, an application for the analysis of metal and alloy compositions (discoverymat.he-arc.ch:8080/);
– MiCorr, an application for identifying metal families and understanding corrosion structures (micorr.org/);
– Pleco, an instrument for identifying corrosion products formed on the surface of metals (pleco.fablab-neuch.ch).
It is expected that they develop competencies in using the tools and that they will contribute to their optimization and enhancement. It will be a dynamic process to which everyone is invited! We count on all of you!
