Ergonomics and Design

Design useful things, create, innovate: a unique training programme in Switzerland!

Live, inhabit, consume, move, think and act. Everyone does it. You too should think about it and ask yourself how. How can we go beyond the purely technical and functional to create emotions and beauty? How can we blend utility, beauty and originality? How can we become part of a culture and create networks...?

The training you will be given - unique in Switzerland - will place you at the heart of the new needs of industry and society.

The “Ergonomics and Design” programme is based on a multidisciplinary approach hinged around the following components:

  • sciences
  • technologies
  • concept development
  • design
  • ergonomics (analysis and incorporation of human factors to facilitate the use of products)
  • anthropotechnology (analysis and incorporation of the sociocultural context, lifestyle and needs of users).

Career Opportunities

Design engineers can use their skills to drive innovation within a company.

You will be capable of making suggestions to revamp existing products via new designs or the creation of original new products. You will know how to identify and interpret users’ needs.

Your global vision will help you communicate effectively with all the players involved, from design right through to manufacture.

You will be well equipped to take on a project management role.
