Collaboration And Funding

There are various opportunities for collaboration with the research teams at the Arc School of Engineering.

Specific Projects

These projects vary according to your expectations, deadlines, and budget, and can be carried out with our students, engineers, and professors.

Well suited to exploratory projects and feasibility studies for new ideas, bachelor’s theses are completed over a two-month period, from mid-May to mid-July, and master’s theses over a six-month period, from September to February.

They are free of charge for companies, which retain ownership of the results produced by the student. However, these results may be made public, subject to the confidentiality of the information provided by the company.

At the end of the project, the company will have the option, if it so wishes, to request confidentiality of the results at a cost of 3 000 CHF.

Particularly desirable for projects addressing specific, short-term needs or problems, these mandates are carried out within our competence groups by our interdisciplinary teams of engineers and professional researchers.

Expertise, high responsiveness, strict confidentiality, full intellectual property rights on results.

Cost based on deliverables, in successive stages if necessary, or work on a time and materials basis.

With a view to partnership, these projects are an excellent way to benefit from significant public co-financing, which can be allocated by the cantons (NPR projects), the Confederation (Innosuisse projects), or even the European Union, for strategic projects with high innovative potential.

Typically lasting 12 to 24 months, they are carried out by our professional engineers and researchers. We take care of setting up the project and drafting the application, with targeted contributions from you.

Low direct cost but in-kind participation required (working hours or equipment). Intellectual property and exclusivity in a reserved field of application.

Framework agreement

Designed for our preferred partners with a view to long-term collaboration (minimum 3 years), the framework agreement allows for the annual optimization of structured project management, project portfolios, or ongoing services. In addition to simplifying administrative management and the rapid set-up of new projects, this mode of collaboration offers great agility and allows us to establish a strong link between our teams and our partners.

The framework contract also provides for various additional services, such as recruitment assistance, preferential access to the school’s intellectual property, occasional consulting, and innovation advice.

The framework agreement is based on fixed annual funding of between 50’000 and 250’000 CHF, which corresponds to an equivalent pre-allocation of resources from our skill groups. The terms and conditions for project management, set-up, and monitoring are defined on a case-by-case basis with our partners according to their specific needs.

Talent pool and technology transfer

If you are looking for young talent, experienced staff, or want to optimize technology transfer following a development project, we can implement a range of support measures.

We can help you select a young graduate, either after graduation or as part of their bachelor’s or master’s degree.

We can hire a candidate ourselves to join our team working on a project in collaboration with you, with a view to, but without obligation, future employment on your part.

We can also make various arrangements to facilitate the transfer, such as additional training or time in the company.

These planned recruitments carried out as part of a development project are the best way to achieve effective technology transfer and real ownership of the results by our partners.

Sponsorship

Sponsors often support fundamental research in order to promote the creation of long-term knowledge. But applied research, which aims to put this knowledge into practice in the short or medium term, also deserves to be recognized and supported.

We gladly accept any private support for our approach, which directly serves our local economic and industrial fabric.

This support will stimulate the emergence of new product-oriented ideas or rapidly applicable processes, contribute to the attractiveness of technical and scientific professions for young people, and support the long-term industrial momentum of our regions.

You will thus benefit from first refusal rights on the intellectual property generated and will be able to participate in defining our strategic development priorities.
