A presentation by Julie Schröter and Miriam Truffa Giachet, who will give us general results of the project
“Artefacts made of lacquered brass such as scientific instruments and decorative bronze items are widely represented in museum’s collections. The degradation of both the lacquer and the metal alloy is a frequent problem from an esthetical and conservation point of view.
Conservators are frequently confronted with the challenge of trying to remove corrosion products and preserving traces of historical lacquer at the same time.”
